What is it? A historic race began all the way back in 1916 that still rages on today. For our swimmers out there, get ready for the La Jolla Rough Water Swim. The La Jolla Half Marathon, which extends through multiple cities along the Southern California Coast, is the perfect example of this city’s love to run. And don’t forget the Village Art Walk, the ultimate local scene for seeing amazing local artists. There are many art havens in La Jolla, such as the multitude of art galleries around Prospect Street, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library. Throughout most of the year, there’s a free family event every 3rd Sunday of the month. This elementary school-based spot hosts fantastic events not only weekly, but monthly and annually, as well.Įvery Sunday, there’s a farmer’s market with live music.Īnnually, look forward to enjoying the Art & Wine Festival, Harvest Festival & Market Anniversary and Spring Egg Hunt. Parking is available onsite for $2 (up to 2 hours), $4 ( 2-4 hours) with a daily max of $8.įisherman’s Village is offering free live concerts on weekends from 2-5 p.m.Whether you’re visiting the sunny West Coast or have been a resident here since birth, you want to experience the area’s atmosphere. Fisherman’s Village also serves as one of eight pick-up/drop-off locations for the WaterBus (operates during the summer only). The village is the boarding place for City Cruises by Hornblower’s year-round dining cruises and Marina del Rey Parasailing (closed November-February), as well as one of the Marina’s destinations for hourly and daily rentals of sailing and power boats, jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boards. Free live music is offered on the plaza on Saturday and Sunday afternoons year-round (weather depending) find the current lineup below or in our events calendar. There are several restaurants, the Marina del Rey Historical Society’s exhibit space, and a smattering of shops.
